Advice On How To Be A Good College Student

Advice On How To Be A Good College Student Facing college can be overwhelming; where to live, work and how to get through all those exams and lectures may seem impossible, but you've got some good advice in the following article. Learn from those who have gone before you and avoid costly mistakes. Most importantly, stick with it until graduation! Map out your classes and schedule before the first class. Figure out how many minutes or hours you will need to make it each class to the next and plan accordingly. Scout out other important locations you'll need to know, and circle them on a map. Take advantage of the office hours offered by your academic instructors. These hours are provided for your benefit. There is no better source of help or information about a class than the person who teaches it! Use the time to ask questions, seek clarification, or discuss your in-class performance. When taking a test, remember that it is just a test. Many people get intimidated by tests thinking that they are more than they really are. They are supposed to be a review of what you have already learned in your class. Having confidence in yourself and studying well can help you do well on them. When scheduling your classes, make sure that you give yourself breaks. Try not to take any more than three hours of classes without a break of at least one hour. This gives you a chance to eat, study, make a phone call, or take care of other business. It also improves your alertness. Getting through all those years of college may look like an eternity now, but in a few years, you will look back on it and be so glad that you saw it through. Let nothing stand in the way of your collegiate dreams and the places that will take you!
